Successful Branding for Musicians - The Formula of Successful Branding
How to Build a Successful Brand for Musicians - The Formula of Perfect Branding
Your brand is your name, what people will remember about your personality. In another words, your brand is the visible side of you, is what people see and learn about you.
Building a successful brand takes time, it’s about first impression, last impression and what’s between the two.
Successful branding = your look + your words + what you give
Let me explain:
Your brand’s look – it’s actually everything from colors to logo and banners. Let’s say that someone visits your Facebook page (if you don’t have one, let’s say you do have one), the first thing the visitor will notice is the profile photo, it’s what going to convince the visitor to click on your page, you have to leave a good first impression for new visitors and for those who visit your page again you need to keep them interested in your brand and to leave good last impression when they leave. The profile picture should be a logo or a photo of you that shows your personality, don’t compromise on a bad photo, it what represents your brand after all. If you got the budget you should get an expert to do it for you that will change the whole level of your brand, as I said before, it’s not a something you should compromise on, find a photographer or a logo designer and make yourself stand out.
A thing about logo and photograph, if you are a solo musician I recommend to set up a close photo of you to show your personality and to let your audience feel closer to you. If you are a band it’s your choice what to use, you can use a photo of all of you together or the logo of your brand if you have one.
Pro tip: Check out on your competitors profile picture and make sure you set up a different looking picture to stand out better on the platform.
What about the banner? The banner is what at the top of the page usually, not every social media platform have it but when it has, you should use it wisely. The banner says what the page is about, it can also show general information like activity and updates. Banner is what catches the eye when you visit the page.
Another thing to notice is the post design, the posts you upload should fit your brand in the design side of it, make sure the posts are organized and that the colors give comfort to the brain of the visitor.
Your words: How you talk – the way you talk says a lot about your personality, it can be showed in text or in a video you upload, the only differences between the two are the body language and your voice tone. Make sure the way you say things reflects your personality. For example, the description is also a text where you give information about your brand, the way you say things are important, give the information you want to give in a nice and comfortable way as long as it keep reflecting your personality.
Your words: What you say – what you say also should reflects the brand’s personality, it should emphasize the things that make you special. Figure out what are your special points, what do you have that other artist don’t? Enlarge it and emphasize it in your content.
What you give – what you give is what your audience get by following you, it’s actually what you offer in change for the follow. Make it clear that the content you upload worth the follow. Don’t just tell, show them. Telling your audience that your content is good and worth the follow is fine but your audience have trust issues, show them that you are not only talking but give proves, good example for that is that many companies shows their audience how people enjoy their services by showing feedback. In this way you build trust with your audience and you show them that many other people like your content.
To sum up, find your special points, try to be different but after all be yourself, your audience want to know you better so show them.
