Gramofone - The Band You Must Hear About

Have You Ever Heard of Gramofone? This band got me at first listen
Gramofone is a band of four members and they are getting along so good together.

Lately the band released their single “My Self” which I found special because of its different style, when I asked what “Gramofone” means, Cristian Nicoara the drummer of the band answered “Gramofone reflects our influence of music from the past, especially the 70th and 80th period. But actually we just like the way it sounds”.


The song “My Self” has an important meaning behind, Cristian said “the song was written at the beginning of lockdown, a time when sitting down with yourself and thinking hard about things was all we could do. Naturally, looking around one’s self came knocking”.

Gramofone released their first album “Confessions from the Belly of the Beast” in 2014 and started performing in 2016”.
The band members are celebrating this Monday Nov. 16th 2020 (today) 4 years since their first concert.
The band first formed in 2013 by Paul Dragusin who plays the piano, singing and producing and Vlad Dumitrescu the guitarist and vocalist. Also we have Radu Camburu on bass and backing vocals and Cristian Nicoara on drums.

I asked them when will their next album or single be out – “we are planning of releasing an album around September 2021, until then, we will be releasing singles from the upcoming new album. A cool thing we are really exited about is the 360 degree live stream performance on Kiss FM’s – one of the top rated radio stations in Romania.”.
The video got 69K views on YouTube and I also enjoyed watching it.

My last question to them was “how far are you planning to get, huge stages and to fill stadiums?”, they answered me “with every little thing we do now, from the many many hours spent writing to the insane video production behind each one of our videos goes towards catering to our audience and giving them the best experience we can, so in a way, it’s in their hands if we fill stadiums, but we do it for the love of music and our audience.”.
